Feb IHSW

Image
Well Saturday's IHSW hangout was a lot of fun.  I got a lot of stitching done, even if it doesn't look like it.  About 602 stitches along with some back-stitching.  Lots of fun conversations with everyone - and as a result Thomas & I went and saw the Lego Movie today.  It was a blast and there were lots of laughing between us.  Probably a movie we are going  to be picking up once it comes out.  And fyi: there is nothing after the credits so don't worry about staying if you don't want to.  IHSW progress The orange w/ blue block as well as the flower, it's back-stitching, and the back-stitched grass is what was completed yesterday.  The blue stitches next to the orange block are what I'm currently working on as I forgot to take a picture before I started for the day.  I think I should be able to finish the rest of the middle block of the bottom border and be able to start on the 3rd cart before March 15th, which is when the baby shower is.  I would l

Feb - SFS

Well it's almost the 28th and it's time for my SFS update. Budget:                                 $ 25 Thread/bobbins/labels:           $16 ------------------------------------ Total:                                    $9.00 Carry over from last month:   $ 6.96 ------------------------------------- Carry over total:                   $15.96 Not bad huh? ^_^ I'm trying to stay at or under budget each month so if I have to buy something over budget I have a cushion. The thread was for a TW project that I am going to start once I'm done with Emma's announcement.  I had a few paper bobbins left but the plastic ones are going to last longer so I'm slowly replacing them as needed. Now on to the pictures!   Left:  Picture of progress so far. Bellow:  Close up of roof So far I have about 6,438 stitches, but this might be off since I didn't always keep track when I was tired.  The back-stitch for the 2nd cart took only one day which was nice

WIPocalypse - Feburary

Well.....it's February and this month's topic/question:  How many projects do you generally feel comfortable having in progress at a time? Usually I have 2 or 3 going simply because I will get bored and want to start something else.  However , right now I'm trying to focus on just one, Emma's birth announcement.  So I've had to set aside my butterfly/orchid pattern has been set off to the side.  I tend to keep project in tote bags when they aren't being worked on so I can keep everything together.  However, I have a few 'project bags' ie: large ziplock bags that my stitch store puts everything in when you purchase it to keep it all together so I've started to do that as well.  I'll grab a tote and take it with me when I have long car ride or trip.   I have however made some great progress.  I have decided to back-stitch each section of the train when I'm finished.  I think it seems to go faster since I have 'finished' product to l

Bleh...

Title pretty much says it all.  I've been feeling like crap lately.  Now as most of you know, my brother Jason & Sarah are expecting.  However, what you all don't know is that Thomas & I have been trying ourselves.  My period was late so I thought I might be pregnant as they are normally regular. When I did finally get it, it was short and lasted only 2 days. I have been feeling a little nauseous for the past couple of days when I wake so I stay in bed till it passes and I can get out of bed without feeling like crap, another reason I though I might be pregnant. However, both the at home test and the one I took at the doctors the other day has come back negative. I was told by the lady at the front desk that my doctor doesn't do blood tests for pregnancy, however the technician that I talked to on the phone, when she called about my results, said that they do give blood tests, just not the first time and that I needed to come back in about 10 days to take the t

End of January Update

So.....it's technically Feb 1st since it's 2:53am here but close enough. Anywhos, I got a lot done this month on Emma's birth announcement, but not as much as I would have liked.  I was hoping to have at least the engine done.  I took 4 days off since I started this project on the 14th, either because I wasn't motivated to work on it or because I was playing computer games with my hubby. All in all I got 2108 stitches done this month which isn't bad for 14 days of work. Not surprisingly the most stitches I did was on IHSW (Sat to be exact) with 392 stitches. We will see how much I get done in Feb!  My goal - to have the engine & railroad under it done, and the 1st cart started. I'm also hoping to start at least one of my TW patterns, I just need to get more floss. PICTURES! Below: full view of what has been finished. Right:  close up view of engine in progress. So I almost have to have the TV or a movie going while I stitch.  Ot
